Hub Academy started because we got tired of watching people hate their language classes. You know the type — sitting in rows, conjugating verbs until their eyes glaze over, never actually talking to anyone. We figured there had to be a better way. So we built one. Our approach centers on real conversations, actual situations, and the kind of learning that sticks around. We've spent years refining what works (and ditching what doesn't). The result? Students who actually want to come back.
Over time, we’ve built a reputation for reliability, quality, and clear communication. We treat each project as a partnership and aim for outcomes that last.
Our Story
Hub Academy opened its doors in 2016 after our founder spent 19 years watching traditional language schools fail their students. The frustration was real. Classes moved at a snail's pace. Teachers worked from outdated materials. Students got certified but couldn't hold a conversation at a café. That's when things changed. We hired instructors who actually lived abroad. We ditched the rigid curriculum. We started small — just 12 students in a room above a bookstore in Timișoara. Word spread. Now we're here, still in the same city, still teaching the way we believe works.

Founder & Lead Instructor
Spent 8 years teaching English in Barcelona before realizing most language schools had it all backwards. Now she runs Hub Academy and has taught 847 students across 13 different programs. Still learning new ways to explain the subjunctive.
Marcus Chen
Mandarin & Conversational Lead
Born in Shanghai, grew up in Toronto. Believes the secret to learning Chinese is accepting you'll sound funny for a while. His students end up genuinely enjoying tonal languages, which shouldn't be possible.
Sophie Bernard
French Instructor & Curriculum Developer
Parisian by birth, pragmatist by nature. She redesigned our French program after noticing students could conjugate verbs but not order coffee. Now they can do both, plus actually enjoy French literature.
